Speed Isn’t the Only Surprise in the First-For-America 2018 Audi RS3

When the current generation of the A3 was previewed in concept form, it was done so in 2011 with a turbocharged inline-five making 400 horsepower. While its looks eventually made its way to the uncompromising, entry-level sedan, its power plant wasn’t seen until the debut of the 2018 Audi RS3 in Geneva. Better yet, we’re getting that car, with that engine, in the U.S. for the first time.

Our dreams of an American RS3 go back to late 2010, and are now being realized by a car that manages to improve over our wildest fantasies. The 2018 model we get comes with 400 horsepower, 354 lb-ft of torque, standard Quattro all-wheel drive, and a crisply smooth seven-speed DCT. With launch control, a driver can reach sixty in 3.9 seconds while enjoying the unceasing growling, snarling, and burble of the inline-five. But beyond speed is its surprising scope. Sharing mechanical bits with the TT RS, the RS3 somehow manages to put daily drivability on the menu along with thrills.

Better yet, it’s now available at new Audi showrooms across the country. If you’re interested in ordering your own, our West Islip, NY dealership is here to make it happen. Explore availability and ordering by contacting us.
